HOTEL OVERVIEW:

Coral Bay Resort is found at Yai Noi Bay, north Chaweng Beach in the northeastern part of Koh Samui. Opposite the resort is Koh Matlang, a little island with an adjacent reef, accessible by a brief long-tail boat ride or by wading across from the resort during low tide.

The resort is ideal for discerning travelers in search of an eco-friendly alternative to the crowded, concrete establishments becoming prevalent in Koh Samui. Here, the environment minimizes the stress of city distractions. The pace is slow and relaxed, enhanced by the natural splendor of a tropical, jungle setting.

Nevertheless, being in paradise does not necessarily mean isolation as shops and the nightlife area are only minutes away, while water sports are available around the corner from the property's quiet bay. The coral reef in the bay offers good snorkeling, fishing and shelling. The abundant flora on the resort provides a sanctuary for many species of birds, butterflies and squirrels.

Dining Outlets

 Our guests frequently tell us that we have the best Thai food on the island and that our curries and cocktails are sublime. Maybe it's because we do not normally tone down the food to fit the usual concept of Westernized Thai food unless requested to do so. And it could be that we only use fresh coconut cream in curries and cocktails. Who needs canned cream when you have more than 300 coconut trees?

At the Pakarang, which means coral in Thai, you never have to feel enclosed even while dining indoors or al fresco on the wooden deck where mynahs and magpie robins sing for their breakfast, surrounded by lush gardens with unmatched views of the pool and the sea.

ACCOMMODATION:

Coral Bay Resort - These Deluxe family bungalows can be split up for half the family rate for couples deluxe beachfront location.

The luxury Baan Chomjan Villa which literally means "moon-viewing house" was also named for the clusters of huge, white moon flowers on the trellis in front of the house that bloom everyday late in the afternoon.

Built of teak, local hardwood, sandstone and slate, the villa's design embodies a luxurious yet earthy, island-style country residence with a sea view to boot.

It has a large 55 square meter master bedroom on the ground floor and two 32 square meter bedrooms upstairs, three bathrooms, one guest toilet, living room, kitchen/dining area, the ground floor and large balcony on the second floor.

The beautifully appointed villa is located in its own compound with a private entrance and has great views of the pool and the sea.

Room Types: 53 Bungalows and 1 luxury villa consisting of Standard Double/Twin and Deluxe Double/Twin bedded bungalows, Superior Family bungalows and Deluxe Family bungalows and the Baan Chomjan Villa.

Room Facilities: All our native style, thatched-roofed, wood and stone bungalows are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, skylight in the bathroom, hot/cold shower, complimentary toiletries, refrigerator and fully stocked mini bar, a personal electronic safe, storage closets and dressing table, a spacious interior and a huge private balcony commanding a view of extensive tropical gardens or the sea.

The original, charming Standard Double/twin bungalows are newly renovated with an updated funky, chic decor and original art. Each are equipped with coconut wood and have an extra large 7-ft bed/twin beds , a day bed for a third person or child, new furnishings, large windows providing more light, a more spacious interior and a ceiling fan in the 20 m2 balcony.

For a family of three or more, we recommend one of our family units. Superior family bungalows are also newly renovated in the funky, chic style. They have two bedrooms front and back sharing one bathroom in between. The first bedroom has an extra large 7-ft four-poster bed, a day bed, interconnecting doors, two huge bathrooms, and ceiling fans in the balcony. They have 30 square meter balconies and are in a prime location in front of the property right by the beach commanding exceptional sea views.
