The hotel was officially inaugurated by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand on July 22, 1983. The company 's status has been converted to public limited company on April 15, 1994 and is now named "Royal Orchid Hotel (Thailand) Public Company Limited".

Thailand Tonight  - Set on the River of Kings, Thailand Tonight combines the beauty and majesty of one of the best Thai cultural shows in Bangkok with Thai & international BBQ and shopping for Thai arts and crafts. All are presented in a unique environment under thousands of  stars by the Chao Phya River in all  its bustling glory.

Thara Thong - The elegant and authentic Thai restaurant features a richly appointed interior in a glorious Thai teak pavilion. Floor seating at low tables graced with celadon china & bronze cutlery creates a setting for VIP's and Royalty alike. Authentic Thai cuisine, table d'hotel menu and a la carte menu. Classical Thai music perform nightly during dinner.

Giorgio's Restaurant - An Italian treat everyday. Choose from a sumptuous daily luncheon  and dinner buffet featuring traditional Italian dishes; antipasto, soup, pasta, pizza, meat and seafood or select from the a la carte menu. In addition, the restaurant's terrace offers breath taking view of the Chao Phya River.

Suralai Bar - Lobby Bar serving from light snacks to high tea.  Enjoy your favorite cocktail, wine and champagne by the glass. Ideal for relaxing after dinner cognacs and cigars. Listen to soothing sounds of live music daily,

Rim Nam Cafe - The legendary coffee shop with Riverview serving Asian and Western specialties. A la carte menus available from sandwiches to hot food and assorted cakes and pastries.

Eight Bells Bar - Sunset bar, enjoy an evening drink and water a beautiful sunset out on the river terrace.
