HOTEL OVERVIEW:
The
location of the Metropolitan, Bangkok, allows guests to
experience the best of both worlds - the energy of this lively
metropolis, and serene escapism within the hotel's calming confines.
It is positioned at one remove from Bangkok's traffic yet steps
from the city's buzzing nightlife, tucked away on South Sathorn Road
in the city's Central Business District. This is minutes from
Bangkok's main shopping areas and a 30-minute drive to the
International Airport.
We can arrange airport transfers, car hire, private drivers for
the duration of your stay, onward air or train travel. Please
contact the hotel if we can help ease the way.
FACILITIES & DINING OUTLET:
Enjoy your room's perfect privacy, or indulge in the hotel's
inimitable, youthful spirit. This balance is the Metropolitan,
Bangkok's, defining characteristic.
Most guests make use of The Met Bar, which morphs from a
private lunchtime address into an exclusive nighttime members' club.
They also dine at Cy'an, a gourmet address in its own right
or Glow, with its organically focused menu .
There is a COMO Shambhala city retreat with an outdoor
pool, hydro pool, gym, yoga studio and 10 treatment areas.
Specialised practitioners are on hand to deliver Asian-inspired
treatments, including aromatherapy and reflexology.
We also have extensive business facilities for meetings, press
functions, parties and launches, and a full service business centre,
open daily.
The Club 21 Gallery, located in the hotel lobby, sells a
carefully edited selection of gifts, decorative items and
accessories.
ACCOMMODATION:
The hotel's 171 rooms, including four penthouse suites and a
two-bedroom presidential fiefdom, share a cosseting, contemporary
style by Kathryn Kng, a Singapore-based interior design practice.
The look is fresh without being ferociously avant garde,
acknowledging influences from both the east and west.
The simple, ample volumes are flooded with light, manipulated by
lighting architects, Isometrix, London.
Natural materials include Makha wood from Thailand, combined with
oxidized brass paneling.
Paintings are also featured, by Natee Utarit, an up-and-coming
artist at the cutting edge of Asia's art scene. Utarit's images,
hung throughout the hotel, give depth to the otherwise clean-lined
spaces.
